Programme
Torrinha residence provides a specific program in each residency session, but the main components are cultural immersion activities, guided project space and artist studio visits and organised critical meetings and discussions.
The residence organises a group show of resident artists at the end of each residency session.
Cultural Immersion

The program aims to create conditions for the resident artists to get to know Porto on many levels, not only by exploring traditional culture, but also by diving into its recent history and socio-economic issues.
We organise thematic tours, hikes and traditional food and ceramic crafting workshops. Activities involve tours to abandoned buildings, flea markets, guerrilla community gardens and cemeteries.

The 3 month residency programme culminates in a group show of resident artists in residence’s partner Geraldes da Silva gallery.
Although, the programme is not strictly designed for artistic production and participation in the final exhibition is not mandatory. Nevertheless, we encourage artists and provide them organisational and curatorial help in organising open studios, workshops, exhibitions and performances.
